We’re proud to have supported Sullivan Pride this season by providing a rec league affiliation, allowing them to continue participating in tournaments through the Indiana Soccer Association.
While Sullivan Pride operates independently from our GCSA recreational league — managing their own practices, schedules, tournament entries, and insurance — we are thrilled to see them representing the GCSA name so well and showcasing how welcoming and inclusive our Greene County soccer community can be!
A little background: Sullivan Pride has been together for several years, made up mostly of girls born in 2011–2012, with a couple of players from Greene County. The team is expected to grow with the players as they get older — it’s not a single-season or age-specific team like traditional rec divisions. They typically compete in 3–4 tournaments a year, with practices starting in mid-February and their season wrapping up in June. Their next tournament will be the Classic at the Rock in Bargersville, June 6–8! 
We want to give a special shoutout to the dedicated parents behind this team — when they hit a tough spot this spring, they went the extra mile to find a new rec league affiliation and officially join the GCSA family! Our board of directors carefully considered the opportunity to ensure it made sense for both sides to continue to thrive. We were thrilled to be able to vote yes and bring them on board.
Just to clarify: This team came under our affiliation in late March for tournament eligibility purposes and continue to practice in Sullivan County. There were no open tryouts as they did not join us until after their season had started. One of the parents mentioned they may have room for a few additional players next spring — and if so, GCSA will be happy to help share that information!
GCSA does not currently operate any travel teams out of Linton and does not have plans to start one at this time. However, we would love to keep growing soccer opportunities in Greene County — so if you’d be interested in helping build something like that in the future, let us know! We are easily reachable here or via email and have TWO open board positions available! Also, please come to our Annual Member Meeting in November! We’ll recap 2025, nominate new board members, elect officers and start making plans for 2026!
