Greene County (Indiana) Soccer Association

About our Club

Greene County Soccer Association is a non-profit in Linton, Indiana. GCSA is dedicated to the promotion of youth soccer in our communities. Youth soccer promotes teamwork, self-confidence and respect for others and rules. GCSA serves approximately 500 children a year. We work hard to keep the costs to our families low, at times free for those with demonstrated needs. Our complex is located north of Linton City Park and east of Sunset Campground. Address is 10592 W 200 N, Linton, Indiana 47441.

How it all started:
GCSA was born in 1998, when a group of passionate soccer enthusiasts came together to bring the beautiful game to Greene County. It all began with signups at the Linton Walmart – a humble start that quickly grew into something special. The founding team included Dr. Paul L. Daluga (whom we fondly remember), Michael Miller, John Evans (also remembered with gratitude), Kurt Evans of Coalmont, Ken and Mary Berkshire of Bloomfield, Nancy Karaszia of Linton, Lance Seiver, Tammy Swihart, and many others who shared a love for soccer and a vision for the community. That first year, we were thrilled to see 650 kids playing across various fields in Greene County. What started as a small idea blossomed into a vibrant part of our community, and it’s been growing ever since.

One of our early goals was to see soccer introduced into the local school systems, and we are incredibly proud of the progress we've made. Since GCSA's inception, Greene County has embraced the sport, adding soccer teams at three of its five high schools, including the launch of the Eastern Greene High School program in 2023. We've also seen several Junior High School teams compete in the Southern Indiana Junior High Soccer Conference. This growth has helped build a lasting soccer culture, giving even more kids the opportunity to experience the game we all love.
